I lived in Munnar; I hired a cab to reach Wayanad; we went via NH85, a journey that takes 8.5 Hours, which is around 308 Km distance from Wayanad. This road trip from Munnar to Wayanad was very exciting due to the weather, which was so pleasant. This Tree is a mysterious landmark nestled in the heart of the Western Ghats. When I reached Chain Tree, I saw a massive, centuries-old Ficus tree that stood like a sentinel, guarding the secrets of Wayanad’s history. Walking around the Chain tree, I know about the spiritual and historical significance to the local community. I wondered about the story of the legend Karinthandan, who helped to find this place, and that’s why it’s also known as Karinthandan Temple.
