I have listed the top 10 activities to do in Kerala; during my visit to Kerala, I enjoyed most of the Kerala activities: staying in a houseboat, spending time at Kovalam beaches, Explore wildlife, swimming in the waterfalls of Munnar, boating experience in the Kumarakon backwaters, and explore some historical site like Kochi Fort are my favorite. Munnar is a place of Tea Plantations, a hill station in Kerala. Visit the Tea Garden and enjoy the view of the evergreen site. During my Munnar trip, I explored famous tea plantations such as Kannan Devan Hills Plantation, Kolukkumalai Tea Estate, Sevenmallay Tea Estate, Pallivasal Tea Garden, and Lockhart Tea Estate. These tea Plantations were worth visiting for me to learn about the history of tea and its farming and making process.

I am a wildlife enthusiast, so Periyar National Park was the perfect destination for exploring elephants, tigers, various bird species, and diverse flora.

Kathakali is one of the major classical dances of Kerala, which is famous worldwide. When I attended the Kathakali dance, I was imbued by its performance. I liked this dance very much because the Actor told the story in Kathakali Performance through facial expressions called abhinaya. They use specific hand movements, which are called mudra.

Varkala Houseboat journey gives you a stunning view of Kerala backwaters with a stay overnight in a houseboat. In Varkala, you must visit Varkala Beach, which is famous for its rock cliffs, pristine sands, blue waters, and mineral springs. If I talk about my experience, after dinner on the houseboat, I stayed overnight on the houseboat, which was a new experience for me, as the serene and clean environment was giving solace to me and my mind, which was You can’t find it at home or in a hotel.

  1. Visit Temples and Religious Sites

I Visited Temples and Religious sites in Kerala, which showed me the rich culture of Kerala. These temples are approximately 2,000 years old, so visiting temples is worth exploring the history and ancient architecture of Kerala’s Temple. I noted These temples are made of wood, stone, and metals. I was amazed to see the temple’s architecture, and it is an incredible work of stone, metals, and wood, a perfect example of Indian Vedic architecture.   1. Agasthyarkoodam, Trivandrum

Located in the Western Ghats, the second-highest peak of Kerala is known for natural beauty, photography, and adventure. Due to some health issues, I could not visit this place. Still, to explore this UNESCO World Heritage Site, you must be physically fit or get a permit from the Forest Department in Thiruvananthapuram. 

  1. Muzhappilangad Beach, Kannur

This lesser-known place is known for its drive-in beaches in India. I rented a vehicle specifically for this beach. When I drove on sandy beaches, these sandy beaches gave me a different driving experience. Being a hidden gem of Kerala, this beach is less crowded than other famous beaches of Kerala.

  1. Gavi, Periyar

Gevi, Periyar has become an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts in recent years, ever since the Kerala Forest Development Corporation has developed an eco-tourism destination. Located in the Periyar Tiger Reserve in Kerala, you must obtain an entry pass from the Kerala Forest Development Corporation to visit here. When I visited Gavi, I explored lush greenery, ancient forests, and diverse wildlife. The place is also known for trekking, Camping, and boat riding in Gavi Lake. Due to time constraints, I only experienced the boat ride in the serene Gavi Lake.

  1. Vattavada Village

When I reached the Idukki district, I have known about Vattavada Village. As I explored this Off-beat place, It was known for slopes, beautiful views, and vegetable cultivation. Apart from stunning views, it’s an ideal place for adventure enthusiast who loves Trekking and Hiking.

  1. Nelliampathi

Nelliampathi is one of the places to visit, where I explored the natural beauty, tea and coffee plantations, waterfalls, and wildlife.
