Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary part of the Western Ghats, located in the Wayanad district in Kerala, is one of the most famous Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary for rich biodiversity and due to its natural beauty, wildlife, and rich biodiversity, declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. As extends in 344.44 square kilometers, it is a perfect example of the diverse flora and fauna of Wayanad. Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is not only famous for its stunning beauty but also for some famous adventure activities such as boating and Jeep safari.

Due to its expansion, Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary is characterized by dense tropical and deciduous forests, where you easily find a wide range of plant species including teak, rosewood, mahogany, and bamboo here you can also find a wide range of wildlife species including elephant herd, sambar deer, bison, bear, Malabar squirrel, and occasionally tigers and panthers.

Location:

Situated in the northern part of Kerala. It is 46 Km away from Wayanad, which takes approximately 1 hour and 10 minutes via Tholpatty – Kutta – Coorg Road.

Timings

This Wildlife Sanctuary is open from 7 am to 5 pm. There are some restrictions in the Sanctuary In the morning time 40 Jeeps to allowed in the Sanctuary and evening only 20 Jeeps.

 Entry fee

Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary charges very nominal fees for its visitors. For students only Rs40 per person, for Adults only Rs110 per person, and for Foreigners only Rs300 per person.
